1. The organiser
The organiser of the CameraTrails London photography competition is CameraTrails. Employees of CameraTrails, and any of the official partners, sponsors, or associates of CameraTrails and their families are not eligible to enter.
A maximum of five entries are permitted. Images uploaded to the competition website should not exceed the maximum size of 3.5MB, in JPEG format.
An image that has won a prize in a major national or international competition (one receiving more than 500 images) or that has been entered in such a competition where the results are still pending, is not eligible for entry.
3. Legal requirements
By submitting an entry into the competition, you warrant to CameraTrails that the entry is wholly original to you and not wholly or substantially copied from any other material and that the entry does not defame, cause injury to or invade the privacy of or otherwise infringe or violate any statutory, common law, regulatory or intellectual property rights of any third party. You agree to fully indemnify CameraTrails and any of the official partners, sponsors or associates of CameraTrails relating to the competition in respect of all royalties, fees and other monies owing to any person by reason of your breaching this rule.
4. Image editing
You should use image enhancement and digital darkroom techniques to optimise an entry into the competition. Where appropriate, original files may be requested if a photograph reaches the shortlist of photographs selected by the independent panel of judges.
6. Closing date
The closing date of the competition is at 5:30pm GMT, Monday 26th Jul 2009.
CameraTrails will not enter into any correspondence regarding the judging or organisation of the competition.
The winner will announced be within 1 week of the end date of the competition. The winning photo will be the one that receives the most votes through the voting system on the CameraTrails website. Only one vote is allowed per person, and we reserve the right to check that the votes entered for the winner are not fraudulent.
If two photos have the same number of votes, the winning photo will be the one that was entered into the competition first.
The winner will receive a CameraTrails Gift Voucher and £50 Jessops Gift Card. The CameraTrails gift voucher can be used by the winner, or someone designated by the winner to book onto a CameraTrails course. Please see our Course and Gift Certificate Terms for more information.
CameraTrails reserves the right to substitute the prize with a comparable alternative due to unforeseen circumstances. If the quality of entry falls below the suitable standard, determined by the judge, CameraTrails reserves the right not to award a prize/prizes.
At the point of notification of winning entries, the winners must supply full postal address information and such other information CameraTrails may require for the purpose of sending out the prizes. Once address details have been supplied, winners should allow 21 days for receipt of their prizes.
The entrant must be the sole author and owner of copyright, intellectual property, and all other proprietary rights in all pictures entered. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not CameraTrails, to ensure they comply with these ownership and copyright requirements and own the rights to reproduce their images. Entries that do not fulfil these criteria will be deemed ineligible and disqualified. CameraTrails does not make any claim on the copyright of your images. The photographer will retain copyright and where an image or images are reproduced, the photographer will be credited.
