Trail and Gift Certificate Terms and Conditions (v1.3 Jul 10)

Below are the terms and conditions for those booking and participating in a CameraTrails tour.

Your Level of Experience

The trails are suitable for beginner and intermediate level photographers. Please take a look at the technical content on the individual tour pages to see what we cover, we are also happy to answer any detailed questions you may have if you are uncertain about the level. Please feel free to contact us

Equipment and Clothing Required

Digital SLRs are preferable for this tour. You are also welcome to use your compact, as long as it has a manual setting (see this link to get an idea of compact cameras that have this ability). We can’t cater for non-digital (film) cameras. On the day, please make sure your camera batteries are charged, and you have space on your memory card.

Please also make sure you wear appropriate footwear for walking, and have appropriate protection from the elements for yourself and your equipment.

Restrictions on Professional Photographers and Commercial Photography

Some easily accessible areas of London are privately owned, are part of the Royal Parks, or are under Greater London Authority juristiction. These include:

St Marys Axe (near the Gherkin/'Swiss Re')
Trafalgar and Parliament Squares
The South Bank
St James' Park

In these areas, you cannot take photos for commercial gain. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Weather

London has varied weather, and to avoid disappointment we try and run the tours in most conditions. In fact, some ‘challenging weather’ conditions provide great photo opportunities. In some circumstances the weather means we have to cancel the tour, in which case you receive a full refund (we will also try to inform as soon as possible in this event, using the contact details you supply on booking).

Bringing Children and Partners

We do charge the standard rate for non-photographic partners and children. Children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult and you must take full custodial responsibility for them. Feel free contact us for more information.

Tour Distance

You will need to be able to walk up to 2.5 miles (4km). Tours last about 4.5 hours, with a half hour break for refreshments.

Safety in London

You need to be aware of the usual hazards that will be encountered in any big city, such as traffic, pickpockets etc.

Late Arrivals

Please arrive promptly for the tour. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we may have to start without you (out of courtesy to other attendees).

Cancellations

To qualify for a refund on any tour booked, it must be cancelled by calling us no less than 7 days prior to the date of your tour. A handling charge of £5 is payable for any cancellation. If you cancel within 7 days of the date of your tour, no refunds are available.

Should we need to cancel the tour, you will receive a full refund and we will let you know as soon as possible using the contact details you supply on booking.

How Our Gift Certificates Work

The certificate is valid for nine months from the date of purchase, and can be used to book a date on a tour from our normal schedule. The gift certificates are the same price as our tours.

To book a tour, the recipient can ring or e-mail us (contact details will be on the certificate and can also be found on our website and in the durable terms and conditions document) - supplying the unique code on the certificate. We will then reserve their place. Places on tours are subject to availability, and purchase and participation in the tour are subject to our terms and conditions. You will be sent an electronic voucher by e-mail within 12hrs. If you specify a physical address, we will also send you the certificate in the post at no extra cost (allow 3 working days for delivery to a UK address).

Cancellation of Gift Certificate Purchases

You may cancel your gift certificate purchase within seven days of receipt of the e-mail voucher and Terms and Conditions document. If you purchase a gift certificate and it is redeemed for a tour starting within seven days of it's purchase, your right to cancel ends when the tour starts.

You will receive a full refund as soon as possible after you cancel. On cancellation, you will not be required to post the voucher back, but it's code will become void and cannot be redeemed.

Privacy Policy

We are committed to maintaining your privacy. In booking a tour, you are accepting our privacy policy, details of which can be found here
